Sine Wave Inverters

This is the best type of inverter that exactly replicates the mains supply. They are more expensive, but can be used to provide power for any type of mains equipment, as they produce a pure 230 volt 50 Hz sine wave, just like your incoming utility mains supply. Whichever model you decide on, be sure to choose one that will handle the power you need. Often, loads with electric motors, like fridges and washing machines, need a very high current to start them running, so always buy an invertor large enough to handle this momentary inrush current. Some more expensive inverters, even have a charger built in and this can be useful to charge your battery bank when there is no solar energy available. Be sure to choose one that suits your battery voltage.
